4 Foods That Are Good for Your Skin

18 Mars 2014

They say you are what you eat, but I wouldn’t take it quite that far. However, it is true that the foods you put into your body have a large impact on the quality of your skin. While you don’t have to drastically change your diet based on these facts, adding in a few new foods and being mindful of what you put into your body could help your skin. Here are 4 examples of foods that are good for your skin.

  1. Walnuts. Many types of nuts are good for the skin (and healthy, too!), but walnuts specifically can work wonders. They contain omega-3 essential fatty acids, which can improve skin’s elasticity. As an added bonus, using skincare products that have ground walnuts can act as an exfoliant, helping to remove dead skin cells and improve the texture of your skin.
  2. Salmon. Salmon contains fatty acids that are great for the skin. Examples of fatty acids are omega 3 and omega 6, which help not only your health, but your skin as well.
  3. Green tea. Green tea is full of antioxidants, which are great for your skin. Green tea is also known to help reduce redness and inflammation due to its calming ingredients. Studies have shown that drinking green tea daily may have to prevent skin cancer.
  4.  Avocado. Guacamole’s main ingredient is known to be a great source of vitamin E, which can boost your skin’s vitality and add a luminous shine. Vitamin C, which can be used to reduce skin inflammation, is also a main ingredient that is great for the skin.
